Where to put them

Placement ideas that get scanned

Real estate buyers decide quickly and often drive past. Put the code where they are already looking.

Yard signs

Make the code large — buyers often scan from the car or the pavement. Use the size calculator for your distance.

Window cards

Show the listing for properties you're selling out of hours, right on your office window.

Flyers & brochures

Add a code to the flyer so interested people get photos and price without typing a URL.

Business cards

A vCard code puts your details into their phone and keeps you top of mind.

Tips for real estate

A QR code is only as good as the page it opens. A few habits keep your listings easy to scan and easy to trust.

  • Link to a mobile-friendly page — most scans happen on a phone, so check the listing renders well there.
  • Use a stable URL — if the listing link changes after you print, the sign stops working. Use a redirect or evergreen page.
  • Print big for signs — roadside codes need to be much larger than flyer codes; a code is reliably scannable from about 10× its width.
  • Test before printing — scan the actual proof with two different phones.

FAQ

QR codes for real estate: your questions

What should a real estate QR code link to?

Usually the individual listing page, ideally with photos, price, key details and a contact button. For open houses, a sign-in or booking form works well too.

How big should a QR code on a yard sign be?

As a rule of thumb a code scans reliably from about ten times its width, so a code meant to be scanned from 3 metres should be at least 30 cm wide. Use the size calculator to be sure.

What if the listing is sold or removed?

A static QR code always opens the same link. Point it at a page you control and update that page, or make a new code for each listing.

Do I need to pay for these QR codes?

No. BestQR is free: no sign-up, no watermark and no expiry. The codes are static, so they keep working as long as the page they point to does.
